TB program in Dagupan City
DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — The increasing number of tuberculosis (TB) cases here should not cause alarm as stated by Dr. Aurora Cuison, head of the TB Directly Observed Treatment in Short Courses (DOTS) program of the City Health Office (CHO).
Dispelling what she called as the false notion about the marked increase of TB cases in the city, Cuison said that the surge was an offshoot of the good performance of the CHO in the TB intervention program.
“The CHO is engaged in a massive search campaign for more patients needing to be treated, unlike patients suffering from other diseases where higher count means lower feasibility, she explained. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
