Balanga, Samal win LGU awards
BALANGA CITY, Bataan, Philippines — This Component City has again bagged another prestigious award, together with the town of Samal, for being an outstanding local government unit in terms of transparency and good governance.
No less than Regional Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Florida Dijan of Central Luzon, who motored all the way here to personally turn over a check Tuesday worth P6 million to Mayor Joet S. Garcia and congratulated the Balanga City mayor for winning the prestigious Seal of Good Housekeeping-Performance Challenge Fund (SGH-PCF). (Mar T Supnad)
Malolos gets 38 new trikes
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – The city government here donated Wednesday 38 new trike patrol to the barangay tanods as its contribution to the police anti-crime campaign.

Philhealth packages
SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) divulged Wednesday the new package treatment rates for PhilHealth members. PhilHealth has determined how much will be given a member to enable him to pay for a particular illness or a surgical procedure.
He added that the system will enable even its indigent members to avail of the necessary medical treatments for optimum health. Beginning September 1, the treatment rates will be available to members admitted in accredited hospitals. (Franco G. Regala)
Blood donation
CAMPOLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) under the supervision of Chief Supt. Edgardo T. Ladao joins the Department of Health Region 3 and the Philippine National Red Cross Angeles and Pampanga Chapters in addressing the alarming cases of Dengue in the country through a Blood Letting Activity held on Tuesday at the PRO 3 Multi-Purpose Hall, in this Camp.
The blood-letting activity was in adherence to the directive of Police Deputy Director General Nicanor Bartome that PNP personnel should donate blood in order to ease the blood shortage being experienced in some areas in the country due to dengue. (Franco G. Regala)
PMA exams
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) announced that its PMA Entrance Examination for cadetship is on August 28, 2011 in 37 examination centers nationwide.The following are the basic requirements: Natural born Filipino citizen; of good moral character; single and never been married; 5’4 height requirement for male and 5’2 for female; 17 to 21 years old; at least high school graduate with a general average of 85% or higher (for 4th year high school students, a general average from 3rd year of 85% or higher); physically fit for cadet training.
In Pangasinan, the examination will be held at the University of Pangasinan-PHINMA in Dagupan City at 7 o’clock in the morning. Applicants are advised to bring their examination permits, at least two (2) valid IDs, two (2) pieces of #2 pencil, sharpener and eraser. For inquiries may contact Lt. Commander Carlo C.
