Love, magic make 'Iglot' work

MANILA, Philippines -- GMA Network has a new primetime show, “Iglot,” that starts airing tonight after “24 Oras.” The title of the show may not sound serious but it has an impressive cast led by Claudine Barretto.
“Iglot” blends drama and fantasy in a “story of how love transcends all boundaries.’’
Aside from Claudine, also playing significant roles in “Iglot” are Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin and Pauleen Luna.
Introduced in the series is fresh and promising young talent, Milkcah Wynne Nacion, 6, who won over a hundred aspirants who auditioned for the role of Ningning, Iglot’s trusted friend.
Completing the powerhouse cast are Romnick Sarmenta, Sylvia Sanchez, Jaime Fabregas, Perla Bautista, Mel Martinez, Celia Rodriguez, Lexi Fernandez, and Hiro Magalona.
“Iglot” is directed by Gil Tejada, Jr.
Mendoza filmfest in SM Cebu
Four award-winning films – “Manoro,” “Kaleldo,” “Foster Child” and “Lola” – were featured recently in a two-day Brillante Mendoza Film Festival held in SM City Cebu.
