
A total of 26,101 personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were mobilized for the rescue and relief operations in the tropical storm hit areas of the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions.
In addition, the BFP said that a total of 2,956 land assets were placed on standby for deployment. The land assets are composed of 2,645 fire trucks, 72, rescue trucks and 239 ambulances.
In a statement, the BFP said it coordinated with the Department of Social Welfare and development (DSWD) and the local government units (LGUs) to facilitate the conduct of 33 augmentation operations and delivery of 7,245 relief goods.
The BFP said it also rescued 244 individuals.
“All available assets are on standby for deployment in response to NDRRMC calls and the immediate needs of the affected agencies,’’ the BFP said.
