Bulacan gets 2,500 PhilHealth cards
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy Alvarado gives out 2,500 PhilHealth insurance cards to indigent families from the cities and municipalities in Bulacan during the “PhilHeatlh: Alalay sa Kalusugan Mo” held at the Hiyas Pavilion as part of the celebration of Singkaban Fiesta 2011.
Alvarado said beneficiaries of the insurance cards qualified under Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and PhilHealth guide-lines.
Social Insurance Office of PhilHealth-Malolos Head Zenaida dela Vega gave a lecture about the benefits that they can get from the said insurance. (Freddie C. Velez)
Remulla among top 10 governors
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. was adjudged by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as one of the country’s top 10 performing governors.
Mayors and other officials in this province congratulated him Sunday, citing his programs for the development of this province during the year for rearing the Cavite into becoming also one of the DILG’s top 10 performing provinces with Bohol, La Union, Bulacan, Negros Oriental, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Albay, Compostela Valley and Tarlac. F.A.B. sees better business relations
MARIVELES, Bataan — Business inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) expects a big boom as FAB officials and the new set of officers of the Export Processing Zone Chamber of Exporters and Manufacturers (EPZCEM) committed themselves to better relations.
EPZCEM President Pompil N. Corsame assured the leadership of FAB, led by its chairman and administrator Deo Custodio, of the full support of businessmen.
The two parties signed recently a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in preparation for the setting up of multi-national companies in the free port zone.
For starters, Luenthai Group of Companies President Raymund Tan said his firm will generate 6,000 new jobs. (Mar T. Supnad)
Japan N.G.O. helps Pangasinan folk
DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — A Japanese non-government organization (NGO) is coordinating with local government units (LGUs) in this province for the opening of free livelihood training programs such as welding, sewing, heavy machine operation, and teaching the Japanese language.
The group called Nippon Skilled Volunteers Association (NISVA) started their livelihood programs in 2004 in Japan and then started in the Philippines in 2007. (Liezle Basa Iñigo)
Rizal P.P.O. chief orders revamp
RIZAL PROVINCE — At least eight police officials in the province were affected in a sudden reshuffle Sunday. Senior Superintendent Manuel Cesar Prieto, Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, has directed police officials with the rank of Inspector to Superintendent were those affected in the revamp.
Affected in the latest round of revamp at the PPO were Superintendent Rommel Estolano; Supt. Samuel Delorino; Superintendent Donato Bait; Chief Inspector Edcille Canals; Chief Inspector Resty Soriano; Inspector San Juan Aquino; Inspector Carlos Hogat; and Inspector Christian Dee Cacho.
