Child, 3 others killed in Pasig road mishap

Four individuals, including a minor, were killed while three others were injured after a 16-wheeler rice courier allegedly hit three motorcycles in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City on Sunday morning, November 17.

Initial reports said that the truck hit the motorcycles in front of it while traveling along the eastbound lane of Lanuza Avenue corner Ortigas Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.

Due to the impact, the truck overturned, causing rice sacks to spill and trap the motorcycles beneath.

Authorities immediately responded and rescued the victims who were trapped underneath the sacks.

The local government said that the clearing operations in the area have been completed at around 10:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, the truck driver and his assistant are in the custody of Pasig police for further investigation.
