Smart actors turn Anne on
MANILA, Philippines -- During the recent press conference for “No Other Woman” held at ABS-CBN, Anne Curtis said “it’s a pleasure working with smart actors.” She referred to her co-stars in the movie, Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes, who apparently impressed her a lot during the shoot. Their movie opens today (Sept. 28) in theaters nationwide.
Anne has worked with Derek in a TV project before, but it’s the first time they are working together in a movie. It’s also Derek’s first time to work with Cristine in a film.
“With her mataray image, I was surprised to find out that she is a nice person pala. Silang dalawa ni Anne, they’re wonderful people and I enjoyed working with them,” Derek said.
On her part, Cristine said, “I’m so flattered na nakasama ko sila sa pelikulang ito, kahit bago pa ako.”
Star Cinema and Viva Films collaborated in the making of “No Other Woman,” which is another compelling drama. Anne, Derek and Cristine play what could be the most provocative and emotionally charged roles.
Anne is Kara Zalderiaga, a young, beautiful and carefree socialite who can and will get whatever she wants. Derek on the other hand, is Ram Escaler, a charming and dedicated furniture salesman-husband driven by his ambition to prove himself to the world and to get out of the shadow of his father-in-law.
Cristine is Charmaine Escaler, the beautiful “perfect wife,” prim and proper to a fault. Charmaine is concerned with image and takes her role as an ideal wife to heart.
After seeing Anne in sweet and goody-goody roles in the past, playing the role of a mistress is no doubt a brave and bold career move.

Lahi performs at Ka Freddie’s
A new band called Lahi, composed of the legendary folksinger-composer Freddie Aguilar and his equally talented children, just arrived from Korea where they performed. Tonight, they resume their regular Wednesday night show at Ka Freddie’s Resto Bar along Adriatico corner Pedro Gil, Malate.
The Aguilar siblings in Lahi are led by the vibrant Maegan Aguilar whose stirring renditions of mainstream music (familiar favorites from the 1920s to the top 40s of 2011) and her own compositions are included in three studio-recorded albums.
Then there is Jonan whose ethnic hip-hop style of music is simply amazing.
Jeriko is a prolific lead guitarist, a rocker with soul.
