Filipina hiker in red gown raises PH flag at Everest base camp

By MB Online A Filipina hiker endured freezing temperature wearing only her red Filipiniana gown to raise the Philippine flag at the Mt. Everest base camp in Nepal. Bianca Lawas posted a photo on Facebook Sunday which has gone viral in her flaming red Filipiniana gown raising the country’s flag at the base camp last April 22, 2019. Lawas said changing into a gown outdoors while snowing at 5, 634 meters above sea level and with a temperature of -15 degrees Celsius, is “no joke at all.”

The post, which was lauded by netizens, has so far garnered 2,600 reactions and 1,500 shares.
