15 houses lost in Zamboanga City fire

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Fifteen houses were razed by a fire in Sitio Darussalam, Barangay Recodo, this city, on Tuesday, March 19.

Witnesses reported seeing children igniting pieces of paper while playing prior to the conflagration. 

The fire from the pieces of paper reportedly spread to a garbage area and set fire to a nearby house.

The fire quickly spread to adjacent houses within the crowded community.

Firefighters from different stations here responded to the incident and put out the fire less than an hour when it started at 11 a.m.

Investigators are continuing investigation and assessing damage to property.
