DAVAO CITY -- A Japanese National and his cohort were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Panabo City, Davao del Norte on Sunday afternoon.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 report identified the suspect as Naoki Suzuki Iguchi, 50, and a resident of Calinan District here, and Marcilino M. Leocadio 40, a former overseas Filipino worker, and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay New Visayas, Panabo City.
Report bared that the suspects were involved in the proliferation of illegal drugs, particularly shabu, in the area.
The Panabo City Police Station, along with Davao del Norte Police Mobile Force Company and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a joint-operation around 12:30 p.m., March 8, near the residence of Leocadio, which resulted in the arrest of the two suspects.
Seized from them were four sachets of shabu placed inside a pouch, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, and the money bills used in the operation.
The arrested suspects are now currently detained at the Panabo City Police Station and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
