Six alleged members of the so-called "Termite Gang" were arrested in Tondo, Manila on Thursday morning March 21.
The Manila Police District (MPD) has not disclosed the names of the suspects yet.
Police said the modus operandi of the Termite Gang involves digging their way into the establishment they plan to rob.
According to the police report, elements of MPD responded to the area after receiving reports of a street fight between two groups.
Residents said the six suspects started the fight. Authorities became suspicious after recovering the digging tools from the suspects.
Confiscated from them were rope, headlights, chisel, and chain lock, among others.
Police said a pen gun with live ammunition and bladed weapons were also recovered from the suspects.
MPD said the arrested suspects were brought to a police custodial facility and that the case is still under investigation.
