Barangay kagawad gunned down in Quezon

SAN ANDRES, Quezon – A 59-year-old barangay councilor or kagawad and leader of a farmer’s group was shot dead in Sitio Putot, Barangay Camflora, this town, on Holy Tuesday.

Police said the victim, Joseph Ancit Vender, was driving a motorcycle on his way home at around 5:15 p.m. when two men on board a motorcycle appeared and fired at him.

Vender sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
