CEBU CITY – A 37-year-old policeman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in Badian town, southern Cebu at dawn yesterday.
Police Cpl. Vincent Arbolada, an operative of the Second Provincial Mobile Force Company (SPMFC), was driving a motorcycle when he was reportedly waylaid by two assailants riding in another motorcycle in Barangay Bugas.
Arbolada had just came from work, and was heading home to Argao town when he was attacked around 2:30 a.m.
According to Sr. M/Sgt. Melvin Collados of the Badian police, Arbolada suffered gunshot wounds in the face and body.
At least 10 empty shells for a 9mm calibre pistol and six spent shells for a .45 caliber pistol were recovered in the crime scene.
Police are still investigating the incident to identify the assailants and determine the motive of the attack.
