Youth involvement

ANTIPOLO CITY, Philippines — The provincial government here has called on the youth of the province to actively get involved in the efforts to address the problems on climate change and the crisis that the environment is facing wordwide.

In his message to some 100 youth leaders in the province gathered at the Provincial Climate Youth Conference (PCYC) held in this city, Governor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III has dared the members of the youth sector to take active roles in the community to respond to the challenges posed by the global climate crisis.

‘I hope someday, you will take active roles in the community in collective steps in combating the adverse effects of climate change by responsibly using your skills, zeal and creativity,’ the young governor said in his opening message to the youth leaders. (Nel B. Andrade)

Quezon mariculture 

LUCENA CITY, Philippines — After a successful program on mariculture zone project in Padre Burgos town, the provincial government is planning to put up a second mariculture zone in Lamon bay area, as announced by agriculture official here, over the weekend.

Provincial Agriculturist Roberto Gajo formally declared the said plan during his interview over a radio program in DWCT-Radiocity-105.3 FM station due to success of the first mariculture zone project in Tayabas bay located in Padre Burgos town.

Gajo said that the provincial government is intending to set up the second marine projects in Perez town which is part of Lamon bay area. (Danny Estacio)

Cavite holiday 

IMUS, Philippines  — The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) will intensify its “Oplan” (operational plan) for the two-month holiday season which virtually starts October 31 (the eve of All Saints’ Day) and end after the New Year celebration.

November and December have the most number of long weekend holidays in the Philippines.

There are four regular holidays and at least four special non-working holidays during the two-month period this year as declared by Malacañang.

The PPO under Senior Superintendent John C. Bulalacao has stepped up police drives with the implementation of "Oplans Kaluluwa and Aguinaldo" for All Saints' Day and the other holidays of the remaining months of the year. (Anthony Giron)

169 scholarships

LINGAYEN, Philippines  — At least P1 million worth of scholarships or 169 slots for qualified applicants may benefit from scholarships given by Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. The awarding of the TESDA scholarships started last Oct 20 at the governor's office.

Espino said, this will be a great help for the province especially parents who could not send their children to school. (Liezle Basa Inigo)

P.N.P. e-blotter 

CAMP OLIVAS, Philippines  — Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 3 headed by Chief Supt. Edgardo T. Ladao, regional police director revealed Sunday that the cost-free PNP-Crime Incident Reporting System dubbed e-Blotter or Electronic Blotter was launched at the home province of Police Chief, Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome in Camp Macabulos, Tarlac City, Saturday (Oct.22). Gen. Ladao said the PNP E-blotter system is designed to make the recording of citizens’ complaints faster. (Franco G. Regala)
