'Amaya' extended to January 2012
MANILA, Philippines -- “Amaya” star Marian Rivera was ecstatic over news the primetime drama has been extended until January 2012.
“I am so happy!” she said right after a thanksgiving Mass held at the GMA Network’s Executive Lounge to celebrate the series.
“Amaya” was supposed to wind up in October.
“Once this show is over, I would really cry! We have become so close to one another – the entire cast – that it would be so difficult to part ways with the group,” Marian said.
Marian described the cast as excellent.
The cast is topbilled by Marian Rivera with Sid Lucero; Gina Alajar, Lani Mercado, Glaiza de Castro, Ryan Eigenmann, Rochelle Pangilinan, Irma Adlawan, Ana Capri, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Boboy Villar, Sheena Halili, Roxanne Barcelo, Mon Confiado, AJ Dee, Robert Sy, Mia Pangyarihan, Anna Feleo, Angie Ferro, Dion Ignacio, Pancho Magno, Leopoldo “Wendell” Salgado and Edgar “Egay” Manuel.
Joining the cast are Aljur Abrenica as Dayaw, a Manobo warrior who becomes Amaya’s new ally and protector; Yasmien Kurdi as Apila, a priestess who secretly admires Dayaw, and Ronnie Lazaro as Poska, chief warrior and Dayaw’s courageous father.
“Amaya” airs weeknights, right after “Iglot.”
