MANILA, Philippines -- “Ang Panday 2,” the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011 entry of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., sets the record for the actor-politician’s biggest movie.

The cast alone is star-charged with Panday himself, Rep. Lucy Torres, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, Lorna Tolentino, Eddie Garcia, and Phillip Salvador.

“This is the biggest movie I’ve ever made!” Sen. Revilla said during a press visit on the set of the movie in Pansol, Laguna. The movie is his co-production with GMA-7.

Bong has kissing scenes in the movie with Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado.

“I assure you, ‘Ang Panday 2’ is superior to ‘Ang Panday 1.’ It took us two years to prepare ‘Ang Panday 2.’ We improved everything from the first movie. And I guess there shall be more sequels of the movie which we will be doing again. We are determined to make ‘Ang Panday 2’ at par with Hollywood movies!”

The production budget is staggering, though Sen. Revilla did not reveal it. “Actually, it’s just like having two movies in one,” he added. “Hindi tayo mapapahiya,” he said in Tagalog.

Sen. Revilla also clarified news that Jolo, his actor-son, suffered bleeding in his brain. “There was no bleeding,” he stressed. “It was just an acute migraine.”

Bong and his wife, Rep. Lani Mercado were at the airport about to board their Cebu City-bound plane to attend the birthday celebration of Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia when they received a call from the hospital where Jolo was confined for suffering severe headache.

Bong and Lani immediately cancelled their flight and went to see Jolo.

“May agimat ka, di ba?” Bong told his son. “So you have nothing to worry. You’re well!” Jolo is okay now, thank God.

Nonoy performs with new band

Nonoy Zuñiga’s songs “Doon Lang,” “Love Without Time” and “Never Ever Say Goodbye” remain staple favorites in radio stations, Karaoke Bars, TV, and in the movies.

Add these songs “Kumusta Ka,” “Ako Ay Ikaw Rin,” “Init Sa Magdamag,” “Magandang Gabi,” “Fragments Of Forever,” and “Live For Love” to his repertoire, and you have an impressive body of work.

Nonoy brings this repertoire at the Casino Filipino Pavilion, Oct. 26 where he will introduce a new and promising alternative soul band called All for Patricia.

The group already has an album and its single “Sulyap” is currently one of the favorites on the airwaves.

Nonoy is currently promoting “Beginnings” distributed by Universal Records.
