Compromise agreement
SANTA ROSA CITY, Philippines — The city government will give delinquent taxpayers a chance to settle their debts through compromise agreement.” City Resolution No. 186-2011 was approved so taxpayers “could afford to settle their taxes through an installment plan.
The agreement covers all delinquent real properties classified as residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and other classes of real properties including improvements and machineries. It also applies to undeclared properties subject to back taxes. Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas said Wednesday if the taxpayer does not avail of the measure, their delinquent properties may be put up for sale at a public auction. (Ferdinand F. Castro)
Police readiness
SAN FERNANDO CITY — The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) headed by Senior Supt. Edgardo G. Tinio, is under going its Annual General Inspection- Operational Readiness Security Inspection Test and Evaluation (AGI- ORSITE).
The PPO is among the Provincial and City Police Offices in Region 3 to be inspected simultaneously by AGI- ORSITE team inspectors led by Supt. Rodina Niones, Nueva Ecija Provincial Internal Affairs Service (PIAS) chief. The inspectors evaluate the administrative and operational aspects, including records management, of the provincial headquarters down to the municipal/city police stations. (Franco G. Regala)
Motorcycle stickers
CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City — The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) will issue stickers to motorcycle owners as a big step towards reduction of crimes involving motorcycles.
Senior Superintendent Ericson Velasquez, Quezon Police provincial director, revealed a media briefing that the sticker will carry the official seal of Quezon Police Provincial Office, a control number indicating the vehicle’s plate number.
Velasquez said the sticker can be easily detected when a motorbike passes through police checkpoints. Motorcycle owners will be issued the stickers for free. (Danny Estacio)
Suspected carjackers
Dasmariñas City, Cavite — Three of five suspected carjackers were killed after trading gunfire with policemen before dawn Wednesday in Barangay Salitran, this town. The shootout came barely 36 hours after the carjacking group stole the Toyota Vios of a certain Ramon Angelo Josayta on Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.
In a report to Senior Superintendent John C. Bulalacao, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, Superintendent Ulysses G. Cruz, Dasmariñas police chief, said the two suspects died on the spot and one at a nearby hospital. Their companions escaped. (Anthony Giron)
Health awareness
ANGONO, RIZAL — A private group which is pushing for a healthy lifestyle among school children has reached this town as part of its health awareness campaign during the Children’s Month.
About 500 pupils of Angono Elementary School gathered at the school’s multi-purpose covered court for the Health and Wellness Program of Salinas Foods, Incorporated on Tuesday.
Glenn Khonghun, business development manager of Salinas, taught the school children with a form of exercise known as Nigari-Waza, a combination of Tai-Chi and Yoga. (Nel B. Andrade)
