NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur – The Sangguniang Panglungsod in Naga City has approved Tuesday morning, declaring the entire city under state of calamity due to African Swine Fever (ASF).
The declaration is based on the request of City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) to access the City DRRM fund and facilitate the release of the city’s financial assistance to affected hog raisers in Naga City.
Among affected villages in Naga City were Barangays Cararayan and Pacol.
Affected hog raisers will receive P2,000 for every suckling pig, P1,000 for every fattening boar and P3,000 for every pregnant pig that will be slaughtered.
Depopulation of affected pigs will be held Tuesday afternoon.
Last February 29, at least 1,516 pigs were depopulated in four barangays in Bombon town and four barangays in Calabanga town in Camarines Sur.
