Japanese held for in-flight lewd act

CEBU CITY – A Japanese was arrested for allegedly committing lewd acts inside an airplane bound for Cebu.

The incident happened inside an aircraft from Manila on Thursday, March 8, said Police Lt. Col. Christian Torres, spokesperson of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

The complainant was a 29-year-old woman, Torres said.

According to the woman, she slept while in flight and when she woke up, she was shocked to see his Japanese seatmate fondling his private part.

The woman sought help from the flight crew. A citizen’s arrest was made and the pilot coordinated with the Aviation Security Unit-7.

The Japanese was arrested when the plane landed at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

Torres said a charge for grave scandal will be filed against the foreigner.

The Japanese and his lawyer refused to comment when reporters tried to interview them on Friday, March 8.
