Gov't to fully implement use of tracing app StaySafe.PH
Malacañang said there was no stopping the implementation of the government's coronavirus disease (COVID-19) contact tracing application StaySafe.PH as the country faced a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the statement after he admitted that contact tracing has been the weakest point in the country's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press briefing, Roque said the StaySafe.PH app will be fully implemented next week as there were no more problems with the app.
"As of yesterday, lahat ng gusot naiplantsa na (all creases have been ironed out). Full implementation of StaySafe app within 10 days," he said Friday.
"Talagang wala na pong pagbabago diyan (Nothing can change that now). We will implement StaySafe once and for all," he added.
Roque said the end-user of the StaySafe.PH app will now be the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) being the agency in charge of contact tracing.
StaySafe.PH is the government’s digital contact tracing application of choice and will be made mandatory for adoption and use in all national government agencies and instrumentalities as well as LGUs.
Private establishments, facilities, and offices were encouraged to use the app while those with existing contact tracing applications are enjoined to integrate their systems with the StaySafe.PH system.
The StaySafe.PH app is seen to augment the 1:36 tracer-to-close contact ratio set by tracing czar Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong and expand it to nationwide coverage.
Meanwhile, local government units (LGUs) that have their own contact tracing apps are required to have their systems have interoperability and compatibility with the government's StaySafe.PH app.
