Mayor urges IATF-EID to put Dagupan City under MGCQ

By Liezle Basa Inigo DAGUPAN CITY – Mayor Brian Lim is hoping that his request to with the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to put the city under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) will be granted . Lim said had requested the IATF-EID to put this city under MGCQ status starting June 16 to help businesses recover from months-long closure due to the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). “It is important that people be allowed to go back to their businesses and work. Let us make it easy for them so that they would have a stable income for their families,” Lim told reporters. This city is known to be the center of businesses in the province, with all the restaurants, salons and the government offices located here. Under an MGCQ status, the mayor said Category 4 industries such as restaurants, salons and barber shops could operate at a 50 percent capacity. “Kailangang mabuhay muli ang ating ekonomiya,” the mayor said.
