Dine-in services at restaurants and fast food chains in Manila are now allowed, but only at 30-percent capacity, the city government announced Monday.
But the Manila city government warned that the management of the said restaurants and fast food chains must strictly observe health and safety protocols set by the national government or risk the closure of their businesses.
Per government guidelines, restaurant servers must wear proper personal protective equipment, such as face masks and gloves. The utensils to be given to customers should be disposable.
Customers who are sitting across a table should not directly face each other and should leave spaces beside their seats to observe physical distancing measures.
The management should also implement a "No Mask, No Entry" policy and regularly conduct disinfection and sanitation operations in all of its facilities.
Food establishments who will be caught violating these measures will be issued show cause orders by the city government. Should they fail to provide a valid explanation on the violations committed, closure orders will be issued.
However, if their violations are validated even before they are summoned by the city government, they will immediately be served with closure orders.
The Manila city government also urged customers to comply with the guidelines to avoid contracting the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).
