MPD announces road closures on Friday, Saturday

By Erma Edera The Manila Police District (MPD) announced on Friday that it will be implementing road closure and rerouting of vehicles on October 18 and 19 to make way for two events in Manila. MPD said the north and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard, from T.M. Kalaw to Katigbak Drive will be closed to motorists for a wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal Park led by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on October 18 starting at 3 p.m. The stretch of J. Nakpil Street, from Guerrero Street to Adriatico Street in Malate, Manila and stretch of Bocobo Street, from Remedios Circle to J. Nakpil Street will also be closed on October 19 starting at 4 p.m. for the Oktoberfest Maynila festivities. Motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic and take alternate routes. The MPD said that the actual closing and opening of affected roads will depend on the traffic condition.
