Kean ready for major concert
MANILA, Philippines -- Is bandleader Kean Cipriano of Callalily ready for a major concert by himself? Why not? With his popularity as Callalily’s frontman and with flourishing showbiz career, he is more than ready for the big concert stage, said Joshua Luis P. Uy who is producing “One Stage, One Night: BBS Featuring Kean Cipriano Live!”
The concert, which topbills Kean together with the BBS (Big Band Syndicate), will be held on Nov. 26 at the Aliw Theater under the auspices of Cross and Arrow Events & Management and Beginnings at Twenty Plus, Inc. BBS, the Philippines’ all-star band, is composed of top men from various popular bands: Raimund Marasigan and Mike Dizon (Sandwich), Jay Durias (South Border), Buddy Zabala (The Dawn), Paolo Bernaldo (Moonstar 88), Eunice Jorge (Gracenote), Madeline (Paraluman), Wendell Garcia (Pupil), Bob Canamo and Rye Sarmiento (6Cyclemind).
“This is going to be the ultimate gig that will rock the country,” Josh promised. If the 19-year-old producer is inclined to favor Original Pilipino Music (OPM), blame that to his being the son of Ms. Pelita Peralta-Uy, Beginnings’ managing director whose advocacy is the promotion of OPM.
Pelita has produced successful concerts featuring the APO, Ryan Cayabyab, Ogie Alcasid, and The Company. She also produced the multi-awarded indie movie “Sigwa.”
Josh is a Communication Arts major at De La Salle University who loves literature and music. He is a contributing writer for www.fightlife.unfilteredmma.com, a website that is devoted to Mixed Martial Arts, and is currently hosting “Word Up,” a Christian talk show on Light TV 33.

Top balladeer Anthony Castelo will headline the initial presentation of “Funtastik Media Nite” to be held on Nov. 25 at the Aberdeen Court/Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City.

The “Funtastik Media Nite” is designed to provide media people – reporters, journalists and authors, as well as the general public – a venue for wholesome music.

Gerald Anderson, health ambassador
Gerald Anderson, who is currently reaping praises for his latest role as “Budoy,” ABS-CBN’s first advocacy-serye about mentally challenged people, has been tapped once again to be the face of two new food innovations, Century Tuna Vienna Sausage and Century Tuna Sausage & Beans.
With these two new tuna products, Century Tuna aims to give a healthy spin to our favorite Vienna sausage to cater to the discriminating taste of health-conscious individuals.
Gerald, who was the first to become celebrity endorser for the previously launched Century Tuna Loaf, perfectly epitomizes the Century Tuna lifestyle. “Gerald is an effective health ambassador for our new products, which we have proven when he first endorsed Century Tuna Loaf,” said Pedz Pamittan, assistant brand manager for Century Tuna.
