Bar topnotcher wants to go into labor law practice

(FACEBOOK / MANILA BULLETIN) “Gusto ko po mag- delve into labor law practice considering the violations of the rights of our employees right now,” Azores told DZMM in an interview Wednesday. Azores also said she sees herself as a litigator and wants to also practice as a trial lawyer in the future. The University of Sto. Tomas-Legazpi graduate said she was not expecting to top the 2019 bar exams, but admitted that she prayed and aimed to be part of the top 10 passers. “Ang prayer ko po talaga is ‘Lord inpassa mo ako, and according to your will...kahit top 8 lang po’,” she said. (What I really prayed for is that I’ll be able to pass the exams, and if it’s the Lord’s will to at least be among the top 8.) Azores said discipline and dedication are the factors that enabled her to achieve her dream of becoming a lawyer. Azores said she would wake up as early as 4 am or 5 am to study for the exams for at least 10 to 12 hours a day. “Alam ko po talaga na gusto kong making abogado, so yung effort rin pong binigay is grabe din po,” the 2019 bar topnotcher said. (I knew deep within me that I wanted to be a lawyer, that’s why I put in my best efforts.) The bar topnotcher also said that pressure from peers and relatives motivated her towards achieving her goal. Azores, who currently works as an auditor at the Commission on Audit, said she dedicates her triumph to her family, friends, and her grandmother who recently passed away. “Sabi niya sa akin ‘inaantay ko nalang sana yung result mo bago ako umalis’. Kaso ‘yun nga. I believe she’s watching from heaven, and cheering for me,” she said.
