10th Sherwood Cup makes successful return after hiatus

The 10th Sherwood Cup, a three-man scramble event, was graced by a total of 135 players composed of the club’s members, guests, and sponsors. Held at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martirez, Cavite on Saturday, November 19, the golf tournament was a welcome respite after hiatus during the pandemic.

“This is the 10th Sherwood Cup which means I have been here for so long - a decade. Looking back, this club Sherwood Hills has earned lots of accolades from international golf raters over the years. For instance, in 2018, it was voted by Golf Travel International as no. 22 among more than 7,000 golf courses in Asia,” said Suntrust Properties, Inc. and Sherwood Hills Golf Club president Atty. Harrison M. Paltongan.

Marienelle Sales, Felix Cortez and Ricky Delos Santos bagged the tournament’s overall Champions title. Other winners were Willy Cabalce, Domeng De Leon and Ryan Abdon, Group 1 Champions; Carlito Colorado, Dansker Tonolete and Antonio Mendoza, Group 2 Champions; Erol Dy, Genaro Tan, and Gene Basa, Group 3 Champions; Doy Mercado, Elmer Baingan and Jade Bernas Group 4 Champions.

Lead Platinum Sponsors included Beneficial Life Insurance Co., Microtel by Wyndham, Suntrump Construction, Inc., Sagada Construction Development Corp., and PAGCOR.

Sherwood Hills Golf Club is one of the three Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses in the country. It was recognized as number 85 among Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses, and recently ranked by Golf Travel International as Top 22 among more than 7,000 Asian golf courses.
