An inspired Barangay Ginebra San Miguel side is expected to show up against Terrafirma when it aims to give its leader LA Tenorio a fitting welcome in the 2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the PhilSports Arena on Sunday, Dec. 2.

The Kings hope to serve as Tenorio’s welcoming committee in what is expected to be an emotional return against the Dyip in the second game at 6:15 p.m. while the sibling rivalry between the Meralco Bolts and the NLEX Road Warriors raises the curtain in the first offering at 3 p.m.
Tenorio’s return is a big development, not just for Ginebra but for the league and the whole basketball community as well, especially after seeing the veteran court general battle through and overcome a Stage 3 colon cancer.
Although fit again but still far from game shape, the PBA "Ironman" is well aware that his return is not only about basketball anymore and serves a greater purpose of providing hope and inspiration to everyone who is going through the same challenges he had experienced.
“Nagbabalik ako I have a higher purpose I think meron pa talagang plano sa akin siguro ginamit lang iyong basketball to inspire a lot of people especially those who are experiencing or experience nung meron ako before,” said Tenorio.
With Tenorio returning, the Kings are gunning for their third straight win for a share of the second spot in the standings.
Out to spoil the party, however, are the Dyip who are looking to pull the rug from under the Kings in hopes of ending a two-game slide.
Juami Tiongson, Javi Gomez De Liaño and import Thomas De Thaey are the focal point of the attack while guys like Stephen Holt and Isaac Go are pressed to provide support if they wish to topple the inspired Kings.
