Axed protégé doing concerts with Imelda

MANILA, Philippines — She may have been disappointed that she was the first to be eliminated from “Protégé: The Battle for the Big Break!” but now Rosalyn Navarro is taking it as a blessing in disguise. She is set to do concerts with her mentor, Imelda Papin.
Today (Nov. 19), they will start a series of concerts billed “Imelda Papin on Tour” at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Aside from Rosalyn, also performing in the show are “Tween Academy” star Jake Vargas, Aileen Papin, the Madrigal siblings, GMA artists Garry Cruz and Maria France “Maffi,” Imelda’s daughter who will fly in from Las Vegas. Other performers include Aisaku, Joey Manuel, Jessica Arcilla, Christelle, Jean Papin, Roshan with the special participation of the D’ Big 3 Sullivans.
Prices for the Antipolo show have been discounted to P200, P300 and P600 (including CD). Proceeds are earmarked to fund dialysis treatment for indigent patients (performed at the 2nd floor of the Quezon City General Hospital), and pro-poor projects of the Imelda Papin Foundation, Inc. in collaboration with the Provincial government of Rizal and Eminence Homecare Dialysis Center.
The Antipolo show is in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Rizal and supported by the City Government of Antipolo, the Mayors League of Rizal and the Liga ng Barangay. Sponsors are Women Power, Broadway Travel, Inc., Holy Spirit Integrated School, Chicken Ko, and Manila Forwarder.
After this, Imelda is slated to do shows in Canada and Australia from Nov. 22 to Dec. 6.

International Bazaar 2011 held tomorrow
The annual International Bazaar, now on its 45th year, opens tomorrow, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the PICC Forums I, II and III at the CCP complex in Pasay City.
The International Bazaar is mounted each year as a special project of the ladies of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Consular Corps, the Armed Forces of the Philippines along with government agencies. Products imported directly from over 30 countries are up for sale.
The highlight of the bazaar will be a grand raffle offering a brand new Hyundai Accent sedan, Asian holiday cruises for two on board the Royal Caribbean and Costa luxury cruise lines.
The bazaar started in 1966 by Angela Valdez-Ramos, wife of then Secretary of Foreign Affairs Narciso Ramos and mother to former president Fidel V. Ramos. The event is a major fundraiser for various charities of the International Bazaar Foundation, Inc., led by Gretchen del Rosario, wife of foreign affairs Secretary Albert F. del Rosario, and president Conchitina Sevilla-Bernardo in collaboration with the Spouses of the Heads of Missions (SHOM) and members of the Consular Corps of the Philippines.
Among the beneficiaries are the Aklat Gabay, Aruga Tungo Sa Pag-Angat at Pag-asa, Bahay Maria Center, Community and Family Service International, Inc., Coalition of Services of The Elderly Inc., Philippine General Hospital, Kabalikat Sa Kaunlaran Ng Mga Ayta, Inc., Dar Amanah Children’s Village Foundation, Inc.
Tickets are available at the IBF office on the 6th floor of the Foreign Affairs Bldg. along Roxas Blvd., Tesoro’s outlets and from members of the International Bazaar Foundation.

Laura Zashi fashion show successful
A successful fashion show was mounted recently by Laura Zachi Creations at the Atrium of SM North EDSA’s The Block. Owned by Marissa Oyales, Laura Zachi provides the wardrobe for Vina Morales and Agot Isidro for their teleserye “Nasaan si Elisa?” on ABS-CBN.
Some of the outfits of Councilor Shalani Soledad on “Wil Time Bigtime” are Laura Zachi’s. The fashion shop also provides dresses for Janelle Jamer, Valerie Concepcion, Pokwang, and Kat Alano.
