MANILA, philippines — Erstwhile movie queen Ms. Susan Roces, who was the recipient of the Ading Fernando Lifetime Award during the recent 37th PMPC Star Awards for TV, prides herself being “kamag-anak” to all the networks.

She has worked for the Kapamilya Network (ABS-CBN) before moving over to the Kapuso Network (GMA-7) and then to the Kapatid Network (TV5).

Susan now returns as a kapamilya taping “Walang Hanggan,” which co-stars her with Helen Gamboa, Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez and Coco Martin among others.

“I was a kapamilya, kapuso, kapatid – kamag-anak ako talaga ng mga networks,” Susan said during her launch as endorser of RiteMED which she has taken on as her new mission, having in mind the welfare of the people working in the local showbiz industry.

This was a legacy left behind by her better-half, “Da King” Fernando Poe Jr., who has always been known for his generosity and care for the movie workers. After his passing, Susan took over the role of helping them.

Through the FPJ Foundation, Susan is able to support people in the industry who are sick and in need of assistance due to poverty, calamities and other unfortunate incidents.

A one-stop shop for brides

Former actress Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez, now councilor and leading lady of Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, is very proud of her Patio Victoria restaurant, a one-stop shop for brides who want a beautiful yet fuss-free wedding.

Patio Victoria has that “Old World” charm that could only be found within the “Walled City” in Intramuros. It has two gardens named after Cristina’s two beautiful daughters Sofia and Diana and an air-conditioned banquet hall. All three venues can accommodate as many as 1,000.

Patio Victoria is also an ideal setting for other occasions and parties. It offers a wide selection of international and Spanish cuisines.

By the way, Cristina (nicknamed Kring Kring when she was still active in showbiz) has opened another such venue in Tacloban, the Patio Victoria-Baluarte, which has a beach front.

Patio Victoria is celebrating 10 years in the business and therefore is giving special discounts and freebies.

Cinderella ties up with GMAKF

Last Oct. 24, Cinderella Marketing Corp. and GMA Kapuso Foundation partnered for the “Give-A-Gift: Alay sa Batang Pinoy” wherein Cinderella will offer to the market a 2012 planner for P298. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the foundation’s projects.

The Cinderella Planner is now available in all Cinderella, Esprit, Clarks, BritishIndia, PrettyFit, Oshkosh and NafNaf stores.
