CSC campaign
ILOILO CITY, Iloilo, Philippines (PIA) – The regional office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) is intensifying its campaign to make every public servant a hero, according to Regional Director Atty. Rodolfo Encajonado.
Dubbed “Gawing Lingkod Bayani ang Bawat Kawani,” the campaign seeks to instill in every state worker the proper work ethic and to build their capacity to be heroes in their own right.
“We in the Commission believe that heroism is a powerful and engaging theme,” Encajonado said in an interview at the weekly cable television program “Hangpanay” of the Philippine Information Agency. (JCM/ESS/PIA-Iloilo)
PIA Awards
ILOILO CITY, Iloilo (PIA) – The Philippine Information Agency-6 awarded the Best Performing Information Officers for 2011 to three government personnel - Alma L. Jornadal of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-6, Juvy S. Gaton of the Department of Ariculture, and Ma. Alicia Soledad Salazar of the Department of Science and Technology.
Jornadal is regional information officer of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s), and was recognized by the World Bank as among the best 4Ps information officers; Juvy S. Gaton served as information officer of the DA for the last 24 years; she is an Outstanding Professional Media Awardee of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) and a Gawad Florendo awardee for Radio Broadcasting, Public Relations Organization of the Philippines.
Communications expo
KALIBO, Aklan – Former Congressman Allen Salas Quimpo will address the opening ceremony of the Communications Expo 2011 as guest speaker on December 7 at the Boracay Regency Resort and Convention Center, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan while Malay Mayor John P. Yap will deliver opening remarks.
Ms. Abigail Yap, the first lady of Malay town, and Dr. Cecile Dy, communications committee head of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and Ms. Ofelia Enriquez Dayang, will jointly cut the ceremonial ribbon. Quimpo is president of the Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC), a leading educational institution in central Philippines actively promoting culture and the arts.
ICC stickers
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte PIA) – Christmas lights that have passed through the government standards should have an ICC or PS mark in sticker form and not pre-printed on the product’s package, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 8 said.
DTI Region 8 Director Cynthia Nierras said the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) or PS mark assure consumers that the products are hazard-free. Director Nierras added that the ICC mark also contains a unique serial number. "Those sets of Christmas lights with pre-printed ICC mark on its package are definitely uncertified and did not undergo proper tests and inspections of the (DTI)," Director Nierras said.
Pantawid Pasada
KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) – Aklan’s operators and drivers of public utility jeeps and multicabs plying various routes within the province finally received their Pantawid Pasada cards here this week through the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
LTO-Aklan Provincial Head Valtimor Conanan said the 179 cards could only be released to operators and drivers here upon showing required papers which, in turn will be submitted to the Department of Energy (DOE), so the cards can be loaded with P1,050.
