The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday recorded 20 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and two new fatalities among Filipinos abroad.
In its latest report, the DFA said the new cases were recorded in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.
The foreign affairs office also indicated the inclusion of a new country in Europe in the list of countries and regions with confirmed cases among Filipinos, the total number of which is now 69.
Meanwhile, no new reports were received today from the Middle East, the region with the biggest number of confirmed COVID-19 related cases totaling to 6,605.
To date, the following are the latest total figures accumulated by the different consulates, embassies, and its other foreign posts worldwide: Total confirmed cases, 9,165; Total live cases, 3,149; Total recoveries, 5,369; and the total number of fatalities, 647.
Meanwhile, DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. led a blood donation drive as a lead-off activity to the department’s 122nd founding anniversary on July 23, 2020.
