CEBU CITY, Cebu, Philippines — Positive about the increasing demand for visa applications, PinoyCare Visa Center, a company providing reliable permanent resident visa assistance through Canada, New Zealand and Australia’s Skilled Immigration Programs, is looking at opening additional offices overseas.

Job fair

ILOILO CITY, Dec. 7 (PNA) — The city government, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), will hold a job fair on December 13 dubbed “Obra Pamaskwa ni Mayor Jed sa Masa” from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the La Paz plaza covered gym.

 Featured will be 55 local and overseas agencies offering various job opportunities to Ilonggos particularly welders, carpenters, engineers, nurses, laborers, domestic helpers, dentist, electricians, waiters, waitresses, cashiers, delivery crew, business related courses, merchandisers, auto mechanics, technicians, sales clerks and a lot more. Applicants should bring their résumé and passport.

Indigents' housing

SAN JOSE, Antique (PNA) — Victims of calamities and indigent families with no permanent place to live in Sibalom town will soon find relief with request to buy a 13,112 square meter-rice land in Barangay Odiong, Sibalom to be converted into a housing area.

 The property owned by Rogelita Cabañero, is on high land and free from flooding. Needed documents like clearances from National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Housing Land Use and Regulatory Board (HLURB) for reclassification of the rice land from agricultural into residential have all been secured.

Farmer beneficiaries

CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Cebu installed Tuesday, Dec. 6 some 43 farmer-beneficiaries in landholdings in four Cebu barangays.

The farmers are recipients of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) in a 7.1206 hectare area in Brgy. Binabag, Bogo town, previously owned by the Martinez Agricultural Corporation (MAC) and landholdings totaling to 93.8324 hectares in Brgys.

Tinubdan, Daanbantayan and Panugnawan in Medellin town, previously owned by the Paz Luna Agricultural Corporation.

REAP gift-giving

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PIA) — Manila-based Road Engineering Association of the Philippines (REAP) will conduct gift-giving in Leyte on December 9. REAP president, DPWH Undersecretary Jaime Pacanan said beneficiaries will be 100 indigent families in Brgy. Cabalawan, this city who will be given groceries, used clothing, shoes, kitchenware, and linens.

Pacanan said Cabalawan is an appropriate choice because it is a poor community. The gift-giving will coincide with the REAP national board meeting, and reactivation of REAP Eastern Visayas. REAP members will distribute gifts to said beneficiaries after the meeting.
