87,000 families receive rice packs in Navotas

A total of 87,000 families received rice packs during the "Let’s ALL Rice" distribution in the city from Monday, Jan. 16 to Saturday, Jan. 21, as part of the 117th Navotas Day celebration.

"Nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga kasamahan po natin, pagod na pagod na nagbuhat at tumulong para ma -dirstribute sa lahat ng barangay natin (We are grateful to all our colleagues, who tirelessly lifted and helped to distribute rice packsto all our barangays)," Navotas City Mayor John Reynald "John Rey" Tiangco said during the last day of distribution in Brgy. NBBS Proper, Navotas City on Saturday.

Tiangco, along with the barangay officials, distributed five kilos of rice to each family.

The rice distribution was the last activity of the founding anniversary celebration.

The city government said Tiangco went to all barangays in the city to distribute rice packs.

It added that Let’s ALL Rice distribution serves as their gift to the locals.

Aside from rice distribution, other activities including a night market, variety shows, fireworks displays were held during the week-long celebration.
