BPI Foundation provides paper, printers and more to over 35,000 students and 1,000 teachers

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), through its social development arm, BPI Foundation,turned over printers, ink, bond paper,and school supplies to the Department of Education (DepEd) for the benefit of over 35,000 students from 74 public schools across nine (9) regions.
This is part of the "Maagang Pamasko para sa Pag-asa ng Bayan" project, which aims to ease the challenges faced by public schools as they resume face-to-face classes amid the ongoing pandemic.
"Together, as we celebrate this season of giving, hatid namin sa ating mga mag-aaral at mga guro ang aming proyektong Maagang Pamasko para sa Pag-asa ng Bayan,” said BPI Foundation Executive Director Owen Cammayo. "We need more changemakers, and we are delighted to support DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela whose slogan, Bayanihan para sa Paaralan is aligned with our Bayanihan advocacy that supports disaster recovery projects.”
The schoolswill receive printers, bottles of ink, reams of bond paper and various school supplies for students and teachers.

DepEd Director III of External Partnership Services Edel Carag emphasized the importance of the donations. “This is truly appreciated and provides the feeling of a renewed sense of hope that we are not alone in the journey of molding our new generation towards a better future” she said.

In a video message, Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio expressed her appreciation for the initiative. “This project brings joy and ease to thousands of teachers and students. May we never tire in finding meaningful ways to support the endeavors of our teachers and maintain the quality of education through our engagements, synergy and commitment to the nation.”
