DDB transfers dangerous drugs regulatory control systems to PDEA
By Chito Chavez

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) said that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will now handle certain regulatory control responsibilities like the issuance of certificate for non-controlled products (certification) and certificate of exemption for finished products/preparations/chemical mixtures containing dangerous drugs and/or controlled chemicals (exemption).
In a statement, the DDB noted that the development is in compliance to the provisions of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In the process of the transition, the Online Application for Certification Information System (OACEIS) and the Dangerous Drugs and Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals Monitoring System (DDCPEC-MS) will also be turned over to PDEA as the new System Administrator and Primary End-User.
DDB Executive Director Earl Saavedra and Deputy Executive Director for Administration Ma. Victoria Sorne combined their efforts to reset the server which houses the operating system of the abovementioned frontline services to signify the key changes.
Among those who witnessed the server resetting are Management Information Systems Division chief Joan Marie Sison and Conference Secretariat Ella Marie Repomanta.
