After missing the last two departure ceremonies of President Marcos, Vice President Sara Duterte showed up on Monday, March 11, to send the President off for his Central Europe trip.

The gesture earned a shout out from Marcos before he began his departure speech at the Villamor Airbase.
"Vice President Sara Duterte, nice to see you back from Davao," the President said upon his arrival at the Maharlika Presidential Hangar.
Duterte showed up at the departure ceremony shortly before it started and was seen greeting fellow Cabinet members and government officials, including House Speaker Martin Romualdez amid a brewing political rift.
The Vice President, however, had no interaction with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos even though they were only a seat apart from each other during the President's speech.
It was also noticeable that they did not have even a brief conversation when the first couple boarded the presidential plane, the same scenario seen when the couple left for Vietnam in January this year.
Duterte is the designated caretaker of the government while Marcos is away.
