Million trees

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) reportedly here Wednesday the success and exceeds its target on One Million Plant Trees project initiated by the Quezon Governor David C. Suarez.

Based on official reports showed by Provincial Administrator Rommel Edano that a total of 1,206,165 various species of trees were planted and grow, surpassing the target of one million trees in different towns of the province.

The said project is a collaboration of provincial, municipal and barangay governments, non-governmental organization, environmental groups, civic and religious groups, academe, out of school youth, individuals and indigenous groups. (Danny Estacio)

Clark facility

CLARKFIELD, Pampanga -- Top trade and investment officials in New York believe that the proposed sports training and recreation facility will be ideal for practices of Asian baseball teams while during their winter off-season breaks.

This was gathered in visit of CDC Public Relations Assistant Manager Noel G. Tulabut in his visit to Philippine Trade Representative Offices (PTRO) in Los Angeles and New York. He said that Eugene Elevado, Philippine Trade Representative based in New York said the Clark STAR (Sports Training, Amusement and Recreation Center) that is being planned at Clark Freeport will be good for baseball training camps. Health needs

LINGAYEN ,Pangasinan- -Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. urged all barangay officials throughout the province to prioritize the needs of their indigent constituents especially health as one of the vital thrusts of the provincial government.

This developed as the governor delivered his message during the Christmas party celebration of the Liga ng mga Barangay held December 13 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center . Espino said that health programs was set priorities for the federation since he assumed his post in July 2007 which are development-oriented that deals on health, youth, senior citizens, and farmers.(Liezel Basa Inigo )

Classroom building

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – As part of the public-private partnership (PPP) in this city, a two-storey, four classroom buildings worth P3.6-million will rise in this city.The classroom building, which will be erected in Barangay Malpitic here, is a result of a memorandum of agreement inked between San Fernando and Aboitiz Power Foundation.

The project will be funded by funds provided by Aboitiz and the City Government. Seventy percent will be shouldered by Aboitiz while the remaining 30 percent will be funded by the city government.(Mark Anthony N. Manuel)

Batangas anniversary

BATANGAS CAPITOL – With the success of its 430th Founding Anniversary, the province of Batangas is recognized again in the field of local governance as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) handed over the seal of good housekeeping recently.

This honor is in parallel with DILG’s vow to firmly improve the involvement of every local government unit in uplifting the practice of governance that embraces transparency, accountability, participation and performance into an institutionalized status.
