MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network quashed reports of an ongoing merger deal between the Kapuso network and TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan.

“There is no truth to the rumor circulating that Manny V. Pangilinan has bought GMA-7,” a statement sent to Bulletin Entertainment read.

“In fact, there are NO NEGOTIATIONS at all between GMA-7 and Manny V. Pangilinan.”

Sitti holds ‘most requested’ concert

Bossa Nova artist Sitti will topbill a year-end concert, “MRS: Most Requested Sitti” on Dec. 29 at the Music Museum with special guests Brigada, Duncan Ramos, and Martin Nievera.

Sitti describes bossa nova as a soft, soothing and fluid music. “Music lovers enjoy bossa nova,” Sitti said. Proof of this is the success of her albums, “Café Bossa,” “Sitti Live!,” “Sitti In The Myx,” “My Bossa Nova,” “Contagious,” and “Sitti Sessions.”

Sitti made one revelation though during the press conference announcing her “MRS: Most Requested Sitti” concert. Next year, 2012, she is ready to date again! “I’m really ready!” she stressed.

She revealed that she broke up with her boyfriend for five years several months ago. Apparently, she has recovered from the break-up, and she is now raring to meet “Mr. Right,” perhaps.

“You must be able to recognize the signs,” she said. “There are signs of good or bad relationship,” she added. “You should never close your eyes to them. Nor disregard them because you love the person so much. Don’t sacrifice true love for the wrong kind of love!” she stressed.

Anyway, Sitti is more than prepared to mount her concert.

Pooh at Metro Comedy Bar 

Another Backroom talent, comic fellow Pooh, is also having his year-end concert tonight, Dec. 29, at Metro Comedy Bar along West Ave., Quezon City.

By laughing, we remove the stress, tensions and toxins from our body, hence, we become healthy to welcome the New Year!

Pooh will be joined by Jason Gainza, John Prats and surprise guests.

Pooh is well-known for his impersonations of Manny Pacquiao, Mike Velarde, Ogie Alcasid.

‘Move!,’ dancing with the stars 

Some of the country’s celebrity dance icons added energy and enthusiasm to “Move!” the biggest dance marathon and pneumonia prevention program, which was simultaneously held at the Makati City Hall Quadrangle and North Caloocan City Glorietta Stadium.

“Move!” was a collaborative campaign of the city governments of Makati and Caloocan, the University of the Philippines, Manila-National Institutes of Health (NIH) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to raise awareness on the prevention of the top killer disease.

ABS-CBN “Showtime’s” Jhong Hilario, Jay-R, and celebrity moms Bianca Lapus and Danica Sotto supported the fight against pneumonia.

Britney, Gaga in circus show 

“Uncle Sam’s Flying Circus” comes to Manila for shows at the SMX Convention Center running Dec. 29 to Jan. 1, 2012.

Apart from the the Double Russian Swing act, musical performances are provided by impersonators of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.

The numbers feature the same larger-than-life theatrics, phenomenal costume changes and a bevy of spirited back-up dancers. Renowned as one of the world’s “quick-change” artists, Athena is ranked as the number one Lady Gaga tribute artist in the world.

“Uncle Sam’s Flying Circus” is scheduled for a series of matinee shows starting 4 p.m. from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30, with evening shows at 7 p.m. and on January 1, there are 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. performances.
