There was no conscious effort whatsoever from Beau Belga to complete his first-ever career triple double in the 110-90 victory over Converge FiberXers.

It just all came while he was trying to hold the fort for the depleted Rain or Shine frontline that continued to miss the services of rookie big men Keith Datu and Luis Villegas due to respective knee injuries.
“Masydaong (malaki) yung pwesto na naiwan ni Keith so kailangan kong mag double time. I need to step up a little bit more (but) sa tulong ng mga kasama ko mas nagiging madali,” said Belga who finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
“And I’m not really aware of the triple double kasi may mga times naman na muntik muntikan pero di ko pinilpilit. Kanina sinasabihan nila ako na one assist na lang, (sabi ko) I’ll try, kung hindi, okay lang din naman,” he added.
More than the personal achievement, Belga was just glad to help the team pick up its second straight win after opening the conference with four consecutive losses.
Still, Belga’s impressive night was one for the books, becoming Rain or Shine franchise's only local player to achieve the feat and the oldest in the league at 37 years old since Ramon Fernandez did the same in 1992 when he was still 38 years old.
“Ganun talaga pag tumatanda ka, tumatalino ka,” Guiao said in jest drawing laughter from Belga and the members of the press.
Turning serious though, Guiao had nothing but good words for the wide bodied Belga who willingly took on the leadership role to a very young Elasto Painters team.
“I feel he has rounded out his game pretty well. May opensa siya meron siyang rebounds. Ang laking bagay kasi nung pagakwala ni Keith so kailangan niya talagang mag double time and he’s been doing that for the team,” said Guiao.
