MANILA, Philippines — Outdoor advertisers Wednesday said they will question the dismissal of their petition to stop the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) from enforcing new regulations on billboards and advertising signs along major streets.

“We will definitely question the order of the court and file soonest a Motion for Reconsideration,” Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) Chairman Ed Acosta said.

Acosta was referring to the order of Judge Rommel Baybay, Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 132 dismissing the OAAP’s petition for a writ of preliminary injunction against the agency’s billboard campaign.

Acosta said they have advised OAAP’s member companies “to remain vigilant” now that the MMDA no longer has legal obstacles to implement MMDA Memorandum Circular No. 10, Series of 2011 and MMDA Regulation No. 04-004, Series of 2004.
