MANILA, Philippines — Half-English, half-Japanese international recording artist Baby M is promoting her single “Bhuti,” which has received warm reception in Japan and has been covered numerous times in South Africa.

“Bhuti” is an upbeat, catchy, and fun song that talks about friendship. The song, featuring famous rapper Boy Ken from Japan, fuses distinct sounds from South Africa. Baby M is the Music Goodwill Ambassador of South Africa, where she worked with famous artist Mandoza in a single.

Baby M gathers a crew of dancers coming from Japan, South Africa and the Philippines to show how music can bridge the gap between cultures.

Baby M is also collaborating with Asiansation Christian Bautista in a number of duets to be released in different countries including Japan, South Africa, and other Asian territories.

Their first duet, the stirring ballad “Sakura,” is included in the Christian’s album “Outbound.”

“Performing with Christian has been amazing,” shares Baby “I am really thankful that they appreciate my music. I am happy that I get to impart the pop music of Japan to the Filipinos.”

Christian and Baby M will also collaborate in a string of duets like “Rainy Day” (that will come out in Baby M’s new album) and “In My Arms” (that will be part of Christian’s new album).

Baby M grew up between South Africa and Japan, and started her singing career collaborating with various South African reggae singers and rappers. After the release of several singles under various labels, she returned in 2010 under Rhythm Zone/AVEX. This recording company is one of the largest in Japan which boasts of artists like Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, as well as foreign artists such as BoA, 2NE1 (under Rhythm Zone) and Super Junior.

She considers interviewing Kesha as one of her career highlights.

The "M" in her stage name Baby M makes reference to the three important "M" of her life: her mother Monica, Mama Mary and Music.
