By Ellalyn De Vera-Ruiz  The tropical cyclone east of the Philippines is less likely to enter the country’s area of responsibility, according to the state weather bureau. (PAGASA/ MANILA BULLETIN) Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said the typhoon with international name “Bualoi” was estimated 2,670 kilometers (km) east of Southern Luzon on Monday morning. It has been upgraded to a typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 160 kph. Bualoi is moving west-northwest at 15 kph. So far, the typhoon is less likely to enter the PAR but the public should continue monitoring for updates on these weather disturbance, Dela Cruz said. Meanwhile, typhoon “Perla” (international name “Neoguri”) has already left PAR last Sunday afternoon. For now, the northeasterly surface wind flow is expected to persist over Luzon. It could bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes. Meanwhile, Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly surface wind flow. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warned that the occurrence of severe thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening could possibly trigger flash floods in low-lying areas or landslides in mountainous regions.
