Iloilo City— The Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ranked the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City as one of the top performing schools with a 100 percent passing rate in the 2018 Board Exam for Medical Technologists (Med Tech).

Jose Perez Jr., academic supervisor of the university’s Medical Science Laboratory, said all of its 141 graduates who took this year’s licensure exam passed after results were released this week.
The University of San Agustin joins Velez College in Cebu City, Trinity University of Asia in Quezon City, Saint Louis University in Baguio City, and Cebu Doctors’ University in Mandaue City with a 100-percent passing rate.
Aside from having all of its graduates pass the licensure exam, two Augustinians are also in the Top 10 of the 2018 Board Exam for Medical Technologists. They are Eldy Villanoy Barrientos and Justin Albert Gamboa Escamilla.
Barrientos, who ranked third, garnered a score of 91.70 percent.
Escamilla, who ranked ninth, garnered a score of 89.80 percent.
The duo are not from Iloilo, but chose to study at the University of San Agustin for its high-rank performance. Barrientos hails from Mambusao town, Capiz province while Escamilla is from Iligan City, northern Mindanao.
