Engelbert back in Valentine concert series

MANILA, Philippines — Among the many foreign acts scheduled to perform this Valentine season is Engelbert Humperdinck who will celebrate love with Pinoy fans during a series of Valentine shows that will culminate with a grand concert on Feb. 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The three-night Valentine treat from Ovation Productions, titled “Engelbert Humperdinck Live In Manila 2012!,” will kick off on Feb. 12 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino-Cebu, followed by a dinner-show on Feb. 14 at the Fiesta Pavilion of the Manila Hotel.
Humperdinck will enthrall his audience with his vast catalogue of hits: “Release Me,” “Quando, Quando, Quando,” “The Way It Used To Be,” “Strangers In The Night,” “Where Do I Begin?,” “After The Loving,” “Dance The Night Away,” “Spanish Eyes,” “There Goes My Everything,” “Am I That Easy To Forget?,” and many more.
He is also expected to perform covers of hits by Santana, Bryan Adams, Police, Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen.
Humperdinck made his mark as a dynamic performer under the outrageously memorable name of “Engelbert Humperdinck” who, with his patented deep voice and thick sideburns, shared the limelight in the ’60s with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Tom Jones until he was catapulted almost instantly to the status of world icon.
His debut, “Release Me,” went into the Guinness Book of Records for staying 56 weeks in the charts.
He sold more than 150 million records, including 64 gold albums and 24 platinum albums.
His last album, “Legacy Of Love,” released in 2010, featured updated versions of his greatest hits. His 2009 CD, “A Taste Of Country,” paid tribute to the musical genre that launched his career.
“Engelbert Humperdinck Live In Manila 2012!” is presented by Ovation Productions in cooperation with 2nd Avenue, Diva Universal, Talk TV, Universal Channel, Basketball TV, RJ 100.3 FM, Edsa Shangri-La Manila and Chrysler.
It is also supported by The Philippine Star, BusinessWorld, 105.1 Crossover, Energy FM 106.7, 104.3 DWBR, Mellow 94.7, 97.9 Home Radio and OptimaSignsolutions.
