MANILA, Philippines – L.A.-based actor and director Ace Cruz is Boracay-bound after announcing his plans to create a film that could help advance tourism in the country.

"I'd like to showcase the island's unique appeal and charm in my film for the consumption of the moviegoers of the world," Cruz explained in an interview with Yahoo! OMG Philippines.

And who better to star in the film than Cruz himself?  Cruz has starred in all his films, working alongside some big names from both local and international film circuit, including "Last Chance aka Gangstaz," in which he co-starred with Todd Bridges and Judy Ann Santos; "Urban Task Force," which saw him working alongside Sunshine Cruz; "Psychotic" with Sam Jones, Joe Estevez, and Kathleen Kinmont; "Fate," with Lee Majors, Philip Michael Thomas and Michael Pare; "The Golem," with Christopher Atkins; and, last but not the least, "Outrage," alongside the legendary Michael Madsen.

Not surprisingly, Cruz already has an investor in Ariel Abriam, president of the Boracay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and owner of BBC Beach Resort and Ariel’s Point both in Boracay.

Cruz described Abriam as "a smart, intuitive businessman who can create a simple vision and turn it into a successful business like what he did with Ariel's Point Diving Resort.”

“We share the same philosophy in doing business—creating an idea from scratch and making it into reality—and that is why we decided to partner in the production of 'Boracay, Life Is Good!’" he added.

As made obvious in the title, "Boracay, Life Is Good!" Cruz said,  "It's going to be a movie with a lot of fun while it showcases everything that's beautiful in Boracay."

Don't look now but already, Cruz has a sequel in mind dubbed, “The Wishing Well.”

Cruz started his showbiz career as an actor around these parts. He was under the tutelage of Alfie Lorenzo, who got him a contract with Viva Films from 1992 to1996. He eventually moved back to L.A. a few years later to try his hand at filmmaking.
