TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, Philippines — The Cavite government has allocated a fund of P558,416 for its Anti-Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Acquired Immune Disease (HIV-AIDS) Program with the provincial budget that was approved for 2012.

The national and provincial health office and other concerned sectors in Cavite have been all-out as far as HIV-AIDS prevention, control, awareness and information dissemination are concerned in the area.

The Sangguniang Panglalawigan (Provincial Board) approved the budget for the Anti-HIV-AIDS Program in December 2011. The SP approved a total budget of P2,706,998,419 for 2012.

The annual budget was intended for the year-round expenditures of the provincial department offices, public divisions, which included schools and hospitals, and special appropriations for Anti-HV-AIDS Program, Provincial Council for the Protection of Children ( budget of P15,946,551) and Senior Citizens & Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) Program (P23,869,985), among other vital concerns..

Some officials deemed the budget for the Anti-HIV-AIDS program as a “must” as a report from the Department of Health (DoH) revealed that Cavite is one of the provinces in the country with high virus prevalence rate.
