Find out what Cong Rida's pet bills are

San Jose Del Monte City (SJDM) lone district Rep. Florida "Rida" Robes has entered full work mode with the rest of her 19th Congress, where the House bills (HB) keep on piling.

On Monday, Aug. 1, Robes posted photos of her inside the newly-renovated plenary hall of the House of Representatives on her Facebook.

As of Tuesday night, Aug. 2, over 2,400 bills have been read on the plenary floor on first reading.

Robes, who recently retained her chairmanship of the House Committee on People’s Participation from the previous 18th Congress, has so far filed 23 bills.

These include the following:

HB No.1493, or An Act to enhance food security and ultimately achieve food sovereignty through the efficient production, processing, marketing and distribution of agricultural products, rationalizing and restructuring for the purpose, existing government organizations in agricultural production, distribution, marketing and other support programs, appropriating funds therefor and for other purposes;

HB No.1501, or An Act instituting a re-employment program for retired employees and workers in the civil service and private sector and for other purposes;

HB No.1507, or An Act establishing a framework for citizens' participation in legislation and rule-making through the use of information and communications technology platforms;

HB No.1509, or An Act declaring the city of San Jose Del Monte in the province of Bulacan as human resource capital;

HB No.2576, or An Act postponing the December 2022 synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, amending for the purpose Republic Act (RA) No. 9164, as amended by RA No.9340, RA No.10632, RA No.10656, RA No.10923, RA No.10952, and RA No.11462; and

HB No.2904, or AN Act establishing the Philippine Virology Science and Technology Institute and appropriating funds therefor.

Robes, wife of SJDM Mayor Arthur Robes, is a Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) stalwart.
