MANILA, Philippines — Two ABS-CBN shows air pilots today (Feb. 4): “Showbiz Inside Report” and “Oka2kat.” The pilot episode of “Oka2kat” will be shown at 4 p.m. after “Showbiz Inside Report.”

Hosting “Showbiz Inside Report” are three former Kapuso stars: Janice de Belen, Joey Marquez and Carmina Villaroel. With them is Ogie Diaz.

“S.I.R.” takes an in-depth look on the news and the people behind some of the most talked issues in show business. Carmina said: “I’m excited with our show because it gives me the opportunity to get to know the Kapamilya stars much better.”

Janice added: “We will discover the real happening behind every story.” Meanwhile, Joey stressed that viewers must watch for hosts’ varying perspectives: “I want to learn from my co-hosts’ thoughts. And since we have different personalities, I’m curious to hear their own opinions about issues.”

Ogie is also looking forward to their show’s no-holds-barred discussions.

On the other hand, “Oka2kat” features five tween stars in the lead roles: Paul Salas, Makisig Morales, Sue Anna Ramirez, Jane Oineza and Joshua Colet. “Oka2kat” is a fun but horror-filled once-a-week show that follows the adventure of the five tweens as they retrieve cursed objects and save their town from unseen evil.

Inspired by the hit ’90s series with a similar title, “Oka2kat,” directed by Theodore Boborol and Neal del Rosario, also stars Dimples Romana, Janus del Prado, DJ Durano, Nanding Josef, and Perla Bautista.

It’s good to know our dear friend Perla Bautista, has never been lacking in shows, whether on TV or the movies. She has been seen in shows of the three networks: ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and TV5. “It’s because kaladkarin ako,” Perla told us in jest at the press conference of “Oka2kat.”

But seriously speaking, if Perla is always tapped for roles in various shows, it’s because she has proven herself to be a competent actress. Her latest movie role, by the way, is as mother of Gov. ER Ejercito in the multi-awarded 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.”

Aside from “Oka2kat,” Perla is also in the new TV5 show “Nandito Ako” which stars David Archuleta of “American Idol” fame. “Excited ako sa show na where I play yaya to Eula Caballero,” Perla said. “Kasi fan ako ng ‘American Idol,’ fan ako ni David, kaya the first time I saw him, lumabas ang pagka-fan ko, pinindot-pindot ko ang pisngi niya.”

Kris Reveals State Of Heart

Kris Aquino was officially launched as San Marino’s brand ambassador during the airing of the Jan. 8, 2012 episode of “The Buzz.” Interviewed by Boy Abunda, Kris talks about her journey towards finding her “true love.”

“It didn’t take me a hundred years to find true love. I realized I am surrounded by it,” Kris shares. “I found true love in San Marino.”
