Movie fans are divided over the reaction of actress Angela Bassett when she lost to Jamie Lee Curtis at the 95th Oscar Awards held in Los Angeles, California Sunday night.
Following Angela's real reaction to Jamie Lee's win, the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" star trended on social media. Angela did not smile or applauded when Jamie Lee's name was announced as the winner for best supporting actress in the movie "Everything Everywhere All At Once."
Prior to Oscar night, Angela was considered a front-runner for the award, with Jamie Lee and Kerry Condon as the two other strong contenders for the award.
But in the end, it was Jamie Lee who ruled the category, winning her first Oscar trophy.
Angela's reaction did not sit well with movie fans. They believe that Angela did not show grace and class when she lost the award to Jamie Lee. Some comments:
"Maybe it was disappointment or shock. Either way, Angela was not in the mood to clap or stand for Jamie Lee Curtis."
"Angela's inability to clap and support the other women was very tacky. Also Black Panther was mediocre...has nothing to do with skin color."

"Angela Bassett didn't even react after Jamie Lee Curtis' name was called..."
But other fans rally around Angela.
"Angela Bassett’s reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis’ name being called…you can tell how much that Oscar would have meant to her. She is, was, and always will be incredible. I better see her on that stage soon."
''My academy award winner Angela Bassett!''
"Angela Bassett did the thing!"
"Angela Bassett has always been in a league of her own."
"Angela Bassett continues to prove you don't need an Oscar to be a winner!"
