NorthPort gave PBA Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beer a rude welcome, fashioning out a 121-88 victory for a share of the lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Robert Bolick continued his strong showing with 25 points while adding seven rebounds even as import Prince Ibeh posted 18 points and 11 rebounds to give the Batang Pier a 4-1 record to join the Blackwater Elite on top of the standings.

The Batang Pier won despite missing star guard Stanley Pringle, who re-injured his right foot during Saturday’s loss to defending champion Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Import Charles Rhodes finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds for the Beermen, who were three weeks removed from their thrilling Game 7 victory over the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok in the Philippine Cup Finals.
SMB played sans Chris Ross and Terrence Romeo who were rested after the hard-fought title series.
The Beermen were also without Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong to serve a three-game suspension for their part in the incident involving a fan who entered the court during Game 5 while wearing a Spider-Man costume.
